&lt;div&gt;&lt;img style="float: right; margin: 10px;" src="/_contentimages/2014-04-06-19-55-49.Batuque3kl.png" alt="" width="175" /&gt;Currently I am preparing with &lt;a href="http://www.joostgroeneboer.com" target="_blank"&gt;Joost Groeneboer&lt;/a&gt;, director of Dans Magazine, a symposium about dance, slavery and resistance. &lt;br /&gt;In the symposium &lt;em&gt;Dancing to survive&lt;/em&gt; we show how dances have been spread over the world due to the slave trade. Dancing was and is a form of resistance. The symposium is a rich event that includes lectures, debates, expositions, videos and workshops. Next to scholars, we are focusing especially on dance professionals and policy makers who work with young people.
